Campus Safety

A safe and welcoming home away from home.

Porter’s Campus Safety keeps our community secure using partnership, technology and thoughtful protocols so students can learn and thrive.

A modern glass building with a peaked roof is partially obscured by green trees. Inside, barstools line a curved counter, and sunlight brightens the open, airy space.

Keeping Our Community Safe

Miss Porter’s School keeps its community informed and protected through a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to campus safety. Safety protocols are communicated through New Student Orientation, the Student Handbook, all-school “Safety Days” at Morning Meeting held at least four times yearly, community-wide emails and texts, and an opt-in alert system.

Our campus infrastructure supports security through keyless and coded building entry, lighted pathways, marked street crossings and monitoring cameras throughout our extended walking areas.

Our highly qualified Campus Safety team brings multiple years of law enforcement and emergency response experience, providing around the clock protection.

Beyond systems and technology, we strive to build a community that genuinely values public safety — one where students, faculty, staff and guests understand the importance of situational awareness both on and off campus.
